Week 7 (A,B, and C days)
Last day of Assignments will be Friday, May 22!
Lyrics are the foundation of a lot of music, but often it's hard to write them. I thought it would be fun to write some lyrics about what you've been up to from home or how you're feeling about the end of the year. The easiest way to do this is to start with poetry and since this is our last assignment, we'll keep it simple. Write a Haiku poem about quarantine times or the end of the year. A Haiku is in three lines. The first line has five syllables, the second has seven, and the third line had 5 again. A syllable is a sound in a word. The word "quarantine" has three syllables: quar-an-tine.
Example 1:
Quarantine:
Quarantine is hard
So many video games
my hands fall apart
Example 2:
School's Out
School's out for summer
now more time for rad tik toks
now make them by pool

Week 6! More Music Fun!
If you haven't noticed, on this website, on the home page, is a link to a page of new music games, from a website called "Experiments with Google." Here is a direct link: Music Experiments with Google!
Choose 3 experiments and play them. If you've already played some, pick new ones. IF you've played them all, replay at least one (your favorite) - then go to the Google Form. Give each a few minutes - really figure it out, see how good you can get at it, and choose your favorite. Once you have, go to the Google Form, and fill it out. Then, you're done!

Week 4! It's time to record your hard work!
Hello CIS! Let's put it all together! Go back to your Google Slides Presentation - "Musicians That Shaped Western Music" and make sure everything is done - make sure you've added pictures, videos, audio clips, transitions- make sure you've made it your own! Practice saying it out loud 2-3 times, and then - After that, make sure you've shared it to me, and then you're ready to record! Go to Screencastify, make sure you're recording your screen and your face, then hit record and go! Speak slowly, clearly but have fun and remember to look at the camera and smile a little bit! Email me your finished video or share it to me via google drive. Entitle the Video: "Western Musician Presentation."

Hello, students! Hope you relaxed this week and found some creative ways to cut through the boredom! I sure miss you all and hope that you're all doing as well as you can in this time!
E-LEARNING HOMEWORK: Continue on with your slideshow on one of the 30 most influential musicians in western music! If you've already "finished" it, try add more creative elements: more pictures, transitions, audio clips, video clips - have fun and make it reflect your creative style! If you haven't started yet, that's fine - it's not due until you present it next week (though I wouldn't wait till next week to start it!) I'll have more details on that next week!
If you don't know what I'm talking about, visit the link below. It should give you everything you need to do your New Google Slideshow on a musician that helped make our music sound the way it does!
